Class Of 1962 Scholarship

This annual scholarship was created to honor the Class of 1962.  In the summer of 2012, the Class of 1962 celebrated their 50th Class Reunion.  They chose to commemorate the occasion by seeking donations from their classmates to create a scholarship fund.  This gift is from members of the Class of 1962 who:

Warmly remember WFB HS teachers who prepared him so well for the wonderful journey that he has enjoyed for the past 50 years. He wants to help one of this year’s graduates begin a life-long experience that will similarly honor the WFB HS faculty.

Fifty years ago biology teacher Mrs. Lewis and general science teacher Mr. Hiken encouraged his interest in nature. English composition teacher Mr. Dorweiler instilled an appreciation for the strange things in life as well as for the well-written sentence.

Basketball coach and English literature instructor, Mr. Nagle, instilled values and self confidence and curiosity about even the driest and dustiest English writing.

Our donor reports that he and his classmates had a little trouble with the phrasing in high school, but says it’s all very clear now. He looks forward to more discoveries on the remainder of his journey and he is delighted to help a member of the Class of 2013 to find his or her own passion and the beauty that sustains and unites us all.
