Richards & Cumberland Music Rooms

Each fall, WFB teachers can submit Ed Nuss Grant applications to the WFB Education Foundation. Ed Nuss Grants help improve classrooms and enhance curriculum.

In 2023, a $25,000 grant request was submitted to update the main music classrooms at Richards and Cumberland. The request included upgraded speakers and the installation of a microphone system. The teachers explained that upgraded speakers would allow them to consistently use recorded music for listening and movement activities and the microphone system would facilitate recording and help them provide immediate student performance feedback. These upgrades were long overdue!!

After determining the Education Foundation could contribute $10,000 toward the upgrades, the Foundation raised the remaining $15,000 from community members, parent organizations and corporations. The new equipment was installed by the end of 2023!!
